This is the home page of WOL and Family.
WOL loves Classic FM, going to concerts and holidays. He has concert halls all over England – and two in Wales. He has seen the Edinburgh Tattoo so he owns that as well.
WOL likes to travel – he has been to London many times, to Hereford for the Three Choirs Festival, to Devon and Dorset, Scotland, Ireland and Austria. He lives with his family of beavers and bears, donkeys, Eeyore and a whole mix of others. His special friend and protégé is TEDZ.
Wol enjoys the theatre - especially going to the Wolera. Benjamin Britten is his favourite wolera composer. He has seen Midsummer Nights Dream at Warwick, Albert Herring at Bristol and Death in Venice at London. In lighter mode he has been to musicals - he has seen Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang with Aled Jones as Caractacus Potts. And he has seen White Christmas with Aled Jones. You may have guessed -Aled is Wol's favourite singer.
Once (and only once) Wol went to a "thing" by Gilbert and Sullivan. This was at Birmingham and was called Yeoman of the Guard. This was bad. The orchestra had forgotten to tune up. And the first singer came in a half to tone flat - and kept it flat for the whole song. Wol left at the interval. The next night was better - he went to a summer prom at Symphony Hall and waved a flag.
There is only one WOL. He is not to be confused with the owl in Hundred Acre Woods. WOL is not a bird.
He is an intellectual from the class of 2005.
WOL has a birthday – it is on August 17 each year.
Regular visitors will know that Wol has been very unwell. His waistcoat frayed and developed a small tear. Also his beans were sinking to his lower half and damaging his handsome figure. Surgery became necessary.
We took Wol to Abergavenny to meet Mike from Wellfield Bears. Following a full examination Wol was taken into hospital for treatment. He was away from home for a few weeks but has now returned and feels much better for their kindness and skill. His tear is now mended and he is - literally - full of beans. You can read more about Wol's return from hospital here.
Just one other thing - Wol and family care very much about people with sight and hearing problems. He has a sister website Hearing and Sight Solutions which you may like to visit.
